Bars discriminating against men?

New York attorney Roy Den Hollander, a self described “anti-feminist,” has failed to convince a federal court that New York night clubs have discriminatory practices against men. Hollander is specifically concerned about ‘ladies night’ where women often receive discounts and specials on drinks that are exclusive to women only. The case has caused plenty of controversy online over whether or not this practice demonstrates discrimination. One blogger says that under the same ideal, theoretically, you can offer discounts and specials that target a specific race. Would people consider that discrimination? Hollander plans to appeal the decision meaning that regulations on targeting specific demographics in bars may go national, effecting Michigan, in the future as well.

Abusive juvenile home crackdown.

Muskegon County officials have undertaken sweeping reforms at the Muskegon County Juvenile Detention Center, following state inspections that revealed excessive force being used by staffers in what the state called a "dangerously understaffed" facility. One juvenile inmate reported being chained by the ankles and physically restrained. Staff at the facility says the use of force is necessary to maintain order. The facility has roughly a 8:1 staff-employee ratio due to budge problems which leaves them unable to control the inmates properly.

Problems like these are very common in facilities that are dealing with financial problems. However that's no excuse for excess physical violence. If your child has suffered injuries due to being mistreated, even by a government facility, you still are well within your rights to be compensated. Make sure you get the right amount by contacting the personal injury lawyers at 248 Lawyers P.C.
